All of the designs are simple and functional. Interest is created through the use of beautifully grained woods, by combining several different types of wood and the edging technique. The object is to highlight rather than change the natural beauty of the woods selected for a specific project. In almost all instances joinery is done with dowels and glue. No screws are used. Generally, all structural items, such as doweling are hidden. Occasionally, when visible splines are used to strengthen certain joints they are incorporated into the design of the piece. Finishes are clear, generally 7 to 10 coats and hand rubbed between coats.
