Many of the benches and tables are grain matched in that the wood grain will flow uninterrupted up one side, across the top and down the other side. Most of the benches and tables will either have ‘live edges’ or hand beveled edges. ‘Live edges’ occur when the bark has been stripped off the edge of the wood leaving natural undulations on the edge which are smoothed and shaped by the artist. Hand beveled edges are worked by the artist to between a 30 and 45 degree angle to create a more interesting visual effect than a standard square edge.
